The Woodlands Township’s Village Tree Planting at Tamarac Park this past weekend was a huge success thanks to all of the community members who volunteered to help out!
Over 100 people from all around The Woodlands volunteered for the annual event coordinated by the Parks and Recreation Department. Volunteer ages ranged from 6 months to 80 years old!
“What a wonderful day we had! Our family thoroughly enjoyed being involved in such a great program. The lead forester went above and beyond explaining facts to the volunteers about trees, how to plant them, told a little history about the park and showed our family the remnants of the old sawmill. It was truly a blessing to see the community working together. Thank you!” – Quote from Trunde Devitt, Volunteer
Volunteers spent the day planting 8,000 pine seedlings, 200 River Birch Seedlings and so much more!
