The Woodlands Township Environmental Services Department would like to thank the many generous GreenUp volunteers and sponsors for showing their commitment to keeping The Woodlands a clean, trash-free community for all to enjoy.
On April 9, 2016, residents, friends and businesses from every village in The Woodlands gathered at various parks throughout the community during the annual GreenUp event. This year’s event was part of the statewide effort to keep Texas beautiful in the Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off, the signature event for the Great American Cleanup.

“Each year, the participation grows and the event becomes more popular. We are so thankful to all those who volunteer their time to such a worthy cause.” – Kathie Herrick, Environmental Services Coordinator
“My family and I enjoyed participating in the Don’t Mess with Texas / Earth Day event this weekend. I don’t think we will ever look at the side of the road the same again. We picked up three garbage bags of litter from a four way stop intersection that we go through almost everyday… we had no idea how much trash was there.” – Bryce Logan, Volunteer
The annual GreenUp celebration concluded at Northshore Park after the cleanup with great entertainment including an environmental presentation by Jack Golden, juggling clowns and so much more!
