When the pizza is gone, toss the box in the trash!

Trashing Pizza BoxesPizza nights are a common family tradition and over 93% of Americans enjoy the cheesy pie at least once a month.  The majority of these people also think recycling cardboard pizza boxes is the right thing to do. However, The Woodlands Township Environmental Services Department warns that’s not the case! The culprits: gooey cheese and oil stains.

If you are a recycling fanatic, throwing away a pizza box may go against the grain.   But, discarding pizza boxes soaked with oil, sauce and cheese is the right thing to do! Food and grease are the most frequent and costliest contaminates in the paper recycling process.
