Donated Items Keep on Giving

PicMonkey CollageIs Santa leaving the latest gizmo, gadget or technology under your family’s tree?  Is it time to retire an obsolete device? Has your six-year old outgrown his winter jacket?  If decluttering or reorganizing are on your post holiday to-do list, keep giving by turning your trash into treasure with these local resources.

From recycling computers to donating furniture and housewares, it is easy to find a new home for your outdated technology, gently-used clothing/toys or like-new building materials. Local charitable organizations, recycling centers and businesses offer trouble-free drop-off and, in some instances, pickup of household items.

When giving things a second life, be sure to ask yourself:

question-1

The Donation Guide makes it easy to turn your trash into treasure. Items in usable, good condition benefit the needy, provide revenue sources for non-profits and may give a tax deduction to the donor. The list offers convenient drop-off and pick-up options for a variety of local charitable organizations.

question-2

The Recycle More Guide provides a full list of drop-off sites that accept everything from broken appliances and computers to eyeglasses and propane tanks. Recycling conserves resources and reduces waste!
