Discover the benefits of composting! The Woodlands Township Environmental Services Department is offering free outdoor composting classes once a month between January and March. Join us to learn and practice new composting skills, meet other like-minded residents, and return to your backyard ready to create useful compost!
WHO: The Township’s free Composting Classes are sponsored by the Montgomery County Master Gardener Association and Waste Management. Taught by Master Gardeners, not only are they educational, but they’re also interactive and fun!
WHAT: Each class offers information on the basics of composting, resources, appropriate tools and equipment, tips on troubleshooting and problem solving. There is also an opportunity to purchase a high quality C.E. Shepherd collapsible compost bin at a reduced cost. Composting-related door prizes, including a new compost bin, will be awarded following each class. No registration required!
WHEN: Classes are held one Saturday each month from January through March. Class begins at 10 a.m. – stay after class to view our equipment display and to explore the array of research-based information.Classes are held rain or shine!
