Learn to identify, cultivate, harvest and prepare the bounty of the forest with Mr. Vorderbruggen, a lifelong forager recognized for his knowledge of the historical, medicinal and culinary uses of local plants.

    A depression era food source. During the late 1920’s and early 1930’s in Central Illinois, I remember my mother harvesting tender dandelion leaves and preparing them as a salad or a side dish. Also, my siblings and I frequently foraged nearby timber areas for seasonal berries.
