The Woodlands Township is now offering an additional free and EASY way to recycle textiles, shoes and housewares. And, it’s happening right at the curb on your regular solid waste service day! Collection begins the week of July 31.
***As of November 20, 2020, Simple Recycling’s curbside service has been cancelled. View the press release here.
Did You Know? 85% of clothing ends up in the landfill! Only 15% gets donated or recycled. We can change that!
- Use the orange bag that you will receive in the mail from Simple Recycling.
- Stuff it with clothes, shoes, towels, sheets, rugs and rags. Any condition is fine. Toys, books and housewares accepted, too.
- Set the bag out with your trash and recycling carts (no need to call). Your items will be whisked away and a replacement bag left at your door.
Orange bags will arrive in your mailbox before your next service day! Didn’t get a bag or need extras? Request one from Simple Recycling.
Consider donating to a charity first. But, if the items are headed for the landfill, why not simply recycle them curbside? Find a full list of items accepted here.

What do we do with batteries
Rechargeable batteries are collected at retail outlets, such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy and others. Alkaline batteries will be collected at 3R Bazaar, an America Recycles Day event, on November 11, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 8203 Millennium Forest Drive. Please visit http://www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/3rbazaar for more information.
