Did you know that you can recycle a pickleball? As the sport has risen in popularity, pickleballs have created their own recycling challenge, which specialty recyclers have been hard at work to solve. In fact, both tennis balls and pickleballs can still serve a purpose after they’ve lost that competitive bounce required for gameplay.

While tennis balls and pickleballs cannot go in curbside carts, they can be brought to local drop-off locations. The Woodlands Township offers convenient courtside recycling for both tennis balls and pickleballs. Simply find one of our large, labelled receptacles within the designated tennis or pickleball courts and drop them in. For those that play at private courts, The Recreation Center at Bear Branch Park serves as a drop center for both programs.

To turn your old tennis balls into state-of-the-art courts and rubber mulch, recycle tennis balls in any condition at the courtside bin in the following locations:
- Cranebrook Park, 11800 Cranebrook Drive
- Sawmill Park, 2200 Millpark Drive
- Shadowbend Park, 4995 Shadow Bend Place
- Wendtwoods Park, 8950 Creekside Green Drive
- The Recreation Center at Bear Branch Park, 5310 Research Forest Drive (Receptacle is outdoors, but tennis balls are also accepted inside at this facility)

Your cracked and broken pickleballs can have a new life too! Indoor and outdoor pickleballs in any condition can be recycled courtside at the following locations, after which they’ll be used to create new plastic products:
- Creekwood Park, 3883 S. Panther Creek Drive
- Falconwing Park, 1077 Falconwing Drive
- Windvale Park, 7600 E. Windvale Circle
- The Recreation Center at Bear Branch Park, 5310 Research Forest Drive (Receptacle is indoors at this facility)
Please feel free to reach out to the Environmental Services Department at enviro@thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov or 281-210-3800. We are happy to answer your questions regarding local recycling and reuse options!
